About Lab Testing

Normally, the immune system makes antibodies to bacteria, viruses and other foreign objects that are deemed a threat to the body. For some people, the immune system malfunctions and starts creating antibodies to its own tissues- such as thyroid gland, joint tissues, skin, intestines and others – known as “auto-antibodies”. We can test for these auto-antibodies. With proper treatment, it might be possible in some cases to have the body stop making auto-antibodies and reverse the course of autoimmune diseases. Low-dose naltrexone is only one part of the potential solution.

Basic Panel

10-biomarker panel

Tests for the most commonly autoantibodies tested for by most physicians

Tests for:

Rheumatoid Factor

Rheumatoid factor (RF) is a blood test that measures the amount of the RF antibody in the blood. An abnormal result means the test is positive, which means higher levels of rheumatoid factor have been detected in your blood. Most patients with rheumatoid arthritis or Sjogren syndrome have positive RF tests. The higher the level, the more likely one of these conditions is present. Not everyone with higher levels of rheumatoid factor has rheumatoid arthritis or Sjogren syndrome.

Thyroid Peroxidase

anti-TPO antibodies are elevated in Hashimoto’s thyroid, the most common of all thyroid conditions.

Mitochondrial Ab Screen

The Anti-Mitochondrial Antibody (AMA) test identifies elevated levels of these antibodies in your blood. The test is most often used to detect an autoimmune condition known as primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), previously known as primary biliary cirrhosis.

Mitochondrial Ab Titer

The Anti-Mitochondrial Antibody (AMA) test identifies elevated levels of these antibodies in your blood. The test is most often used to detect an autoimmune condition known as primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), previously known as primary biliary cirrhosis.

ANA Screen, IFA

Antinuclear Antibody (ANA) checks for antibodies against parts of the inside of the cell and is used to evaluate for certain autoimmune disorders, such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and Sjogren syndrome, among other types

Sjogren’s Antibody (Ss-A)

Anti-SS-A (also called Ro) and Anti-SS-B (also called La) are specific to a condition known as Sjogren’s Syndrome that causes dry eye and dry mouth

Sjogren’s Antibody (Ss-B)

Anti-SS-A (also called Ro) and Anti-SS-B (also called La) are specific to a condition known as Sjogren’s Syndrome that causes dry eye and dry mouth

ANA Screen IFA

Antinuclear Antibody (ANA) checks for antibodies against parts of the inside of the cell and is used to evaluate for certain autoimmune disorders, such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and Sjogren syndrome, among other types

ANA Pattern

Antinuclear Antibody (ANA) checks for antibodies against parts of the inside of the cell and is used to evaluate for certain autoimmune disorders, such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and Sjogren syndrome, among other types

Anti-Nuclear Ab Titer

Antinuclear Antibody (ANA) checks for antibodies against parts of the inside of the cell and is used to evaluate for certain autoimmune disorders, such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and Sjogren syndrome, among other types

Basic Panel Plus

12-biomarker panel

The Basic Panel plus 2 other markers, ESR and anti-CCP

Tests for:

Sedementation Rate (ESR)

A marker used to determine chronic inflammation.  It is non-specific and can be elevated in conditions such as cancers, chronic infections, and auto-immune conditions.

Anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (anti-CCP)

Anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (anti-CCP) antibody testing is commonly coupled with Rheumatoid Factor and is particularly useful in the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis, with high specificity, presence early in the disease process, and ability to identify patients who are likely to have severe disease and irreversible damage.

Cyrex Array 2

Intestinal Antigenic Permeability Screen™

See Cyrex’s Brochure by clicking here

For patients who:

  • Present multiple symptom complaints (including Chronic Fatigue Syndrome)
  • Suffer from abnormal immune cell count and function (including autoimmune diseases).
  • Have multiple food sensitivity

Measure intestinal permeability to large molecule which inflame the immune system.

Identify the damaging route through the intestinal barrier.

Actomyosin IgA

Measures Antibodies to the actomyosin network  – a protein complex that regulates intestinal barrier function by maintaining the plasticity of tight junctions

Occludin/Zonulin IgG

Measures antibodies against the tight junction proteins (occludin and zonulin) in the intestines

Occludin/Zonulin IgA

Measures antibodies against the tight junction proteins (occludin and zonulin) in the intestines

Occludin/Zonulin IgM

Measures antibodies against the tight junction proteins (occludin and zonulin) in the intestines

Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) IgG

Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) are large proteins found on the outside of many types of bacteria found in the intestines.  Antibodies to LPS indicates that they are crossing the intestinal barrier.

Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) IgA

Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) are large proteins found on the outside of many types of bacteria found in the intestines.  Antibodies to LPS indicates that they are crossing the intestinal barrier.

Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) IgM

Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) are large proteins found on the outside of many types of bacteria found in the intestines.  Antibodies to LPS indicates that they are crossing the intestinal barrier.
